El Carmen Salado Church

GRA Architecture + Emilio De la Cerda

2017

Project

Presented at the Dessau Talks in 2017.

The design of the Church of San Lorenzo de El Salado is part of the post-flood reconstruction works in Chañaral. The project uses the construction methods and the industrial tradition of the area to solve two main uses. The first of a civic nature, providing covered public spaces for the community of El Salado; and a liturgical one, a temple that develops on a second level.
